            GENERAL HELPER

            A. General Accountability

            The General Helper is generally accountable for transporting caskets and coffins between shops, moving supplies around the factory, and providing assistance to the truck driver on deliveries. He/she is also responsible for cleaning in and around the factory compound.

            B. Principal Accountabilities

            • Cleans in and around the compound according to the required standard.
            • Lifts, carries, and safely stores units ensuring that there is no damage.
            • Assists the truck driver in loading, off-loading units, and supplies at various locations.
            • Assists with other errands that may be required.
            • Assists in all departments as assigned by the Production Team Lead or designate.

            A. General Accountability

            The Seamstress is generally accountable for sewing all fabric inserts, casket and coffin accessories and other funeral accessories at the prescribed standard of performance. The position of Seamstress is a skilled one. Technical skills and abilities are essential in the discharge of the position responsibilities. The duties of this position can leave a lasting impression on the final product of caskets.

            B. Principal Accountabilities

            • Performs quality checks on all fabrics and other raw materials prior to starting work on them to ensure that they are at the required standard of performance, and re-purpose fabric that do not meet the standards.
            • Sews interiors, accessories for caskets and coffins and other funeral accessories according to the production order and at the prescribed standard of performance.
            • Upholsters caskets and coffins according to the work order and required standard of performance.
            • Installs interiors into caskets according to the work order and required standard of performance.
            • Performs quality checks on all units and raw materials prior to starting work on them to ensure that they are at the required standard of performance and rejects units that do not meet the standards.
            • Installs handles, inserts and other accessories according to the work order on all caskets and coffins.
            • Maintain a minimum production level according to the production order.
            • Ensures that all materials and supplies are used efficiently to achieve the goal of zero wastage.

            GROUNDSKEEPER

            A. General Accountability

            The Groundskeeper is generally responsible for the maintenance of the Orange Grove Memorial Gardens and surrounding area to ensure the all the spaces are kept pristine and beautiful.
            The Groundskeeper’s responsibilities will include but not be limited to, planting and pruning plants and trees, monitoring the health of all plants and greenspaces, watering and feeding plants and lawns, trimming trees and shrubs, fertilizing, and mowing lawns, weeding gardens, and keeping green spaces and walkways, spaces in-between Pedestal Urns clear of debris and litter daily.

            B. Principal Accountabilities

            • Fulfill all operational activities as prescribed by the Manager Operations, Assistant Operations Manager and Operations Supervisor or their designate.
            • Submit daily written reports, work logs and completed action logs to the Operations Supervisor, providing details on tasks performed and explanations for any variances from assigned tasks.
            • Ensure adherence to all established Standard Operating Procedures for each work task or process.
              Performs upkeep and maintenance activities to all areas accessed by CMCL staff and clients, including but not limited to, sweeping, washing and repainting all walls, curbs, walkways, pedestals, parking spaces and parking lines, and repairing and replacing all tiles as needed.
            • Plants, replaces, and maintains all plants at all BCG locations, ensuring all plants are kept healthy, and manicured in appearance.
            • Mow, trim, and water green spaces daily, and fertilize as required, ensuring the spaces are kept to BGC and International Best practice standards, and are healthy, green perennially, and manicured in appearance, ensuring the grass in the green spaces is no longer than three (3) inches in length.
            • Mulch, edge, and weed garden beds daily.
            • Water, prune and trim trees, bushes, and hedges daily, ensuring they are kept healthy, and manicured in appearance.
            • Monitor and maintain the health of all plants, making recommendations and performing any necessary corrective actions.
            • Address pest problems that could damage plants and garden area, ensuring any implemented control measure has no adverse effect on the health and wellbeing of the flora and fauna resident to the gardens.
            • Keep all surrounding spaces including but not limited to OGMG Gardens, Car Parks, Memorial Gardens clear of debris and litter.
            • Assist with the preparation and execution of encrypments.
            • Assist with internment of cremated remains.

            EVENT PLANNER

            A. General Accountability

            The Event Planner position is responsible for providing support to the Belgroves Funeral Home Company Limited by ensuing the execution of all activities related to the Belgroves Funeral Home Company Limited memorial services cycle. This position is an integral point of contact for internal and external stakeholders and seamless delivery of all activities related to funerals, tributes, memorial services, cremations, internments, and associated services.

            B. Principal Accountabilities

            • Plan all aspects of funerals, tributes, memorial services, cremations, internments, and associated events according to the client’s requests.
            • Attend all pre-planning meetings including viewings to ensure that the memorial service is delivered in keeping with customer service standards and per family’s requests.
              Prepare or ensure preparation of viewing rooms, chapels and prayer rooms as required for use.
            • Ensure all in-service audio-visual equipment are set up at least one hour prior to the commencement of the memorial service.
            • Co-ordinate the timely completion of all activities for the Tribute/Funeral.
            • Ensure that all requirements of officiants are satisfactorily handled.

            Funeral Attendant

            General Accountability

            The position is responsible for driving coaches, vans and motor vehicles to transport human remains, customers or goods while maintaining due care and attention to ensure the safe delivery of persons or goods. The Funeral Attendant would also be responsible for assisting with all activities related to removals and funerals.

            All activities must be geared towards maintaining the highest level of service to both internal and external stakeholders and must conform to Internal Auditing standards and guidelines and to all legal, statutory and regulatory requirements.

            Principal Accountabilities

            • Ensures that all vehicles are in good working condition by checking oil, water, diesel etc. and reporting all defects found on a daily basis.
            • Removes human remains from homes, or any other designated place as instructed.
            • Assists in placing and taking out bodies from refrigerator for funerals or embalming and assist in loading of coaches.
            • Assist in funeral assignments including operating the lowering devices.
            • Cleans and secures the vehicles and all related funeral equipment prior to and on return from funerals or other jobs as assigned.
            • Accompanies clients to the registrars, cemeteries, hospitals etc. in preparation for the care of their loved ones.
