Heartfelt condolences to the entire family from the ALJGSB family. We share in your time of saddness… wishing strength and comfort during this difficult time. Mrs. De Coteau was a force to be reckoned with and had a smile that captured everyone’s attention. She was very passionate and dedicated to her work and a gem of a person. She will be sorely missed and always remembered.

There is truly no way to cope with a loss so profound. Mrs. D lived a truly remarkable life and her impact on her loved ones’ and student’s much like myself lives is beyond comprehension.

Mrs. D was always a woman of phenomenal character and unprecedented integrity! Who would never forgo doing what’s right because it’s wasn’t popular. She was also of the philosophy that you must never look like what you’re going through, she would always instil in us as the new generation to always be and look best even if it’s just to walk around the corner.

And believe you me Mrs. D did just that! As her hair would be well coiffed and elegantly dressed. It was never too much for Mrs. D to take time to compliment you and encourage you even on days you couldn’t find the strength to see the beauty and positive attributes about yourself.

Despite flawlessly maintaining her professionalism I was able to see a different side of Mr and Mrs. De Coteau at Panorama this year where I was able to meet with a few of their friends. We chatted and danced the night away she even taught me how to score the panorama performances and that within itself touched me profoundly!

On our final day as we were bidding our goodbyes and well wishes I felt compelled to speak but not because of my position as class representative but as an admirer of both Mr & Mrs. DeCoteau. I remember telling her how much I’ll miss her and that she was truly doing the Lords work even when something she herself doubted it.

And as we lay Mrs. D to rest for a final time I can confidently say that you are gone but you may certainly never be forgotten. Rest well, you deserve it.
