In Loving Memory of Mr. Edward “Eddie” Hart
Mr. Edward “Eddie” Hart was a man whose life stood as a testament to perseverance, service, and national pride. From an early age, Mr. Hart demonstrated a deep sense of responsibility toward others. This commitment to community service led him to establish The Hart Connection, a community-based organisation dedicated to social development, and later the Eddie Hart Football League, which for more than 42 years served as a cornerstone for youth engagement and empowerment within the Tunapuna constituency.
Renowned for his people-centred approach, service-oriented mindset, and strong leadership, Mr. Hart was especially passionate about helping children and young people realise their potential. His work consistently reflected his belief in opportunity, discipline, and collective progress.
Mr. Hart’s contribution to national life extended into politics, where he served the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago for approximately 16 years. He was called to represent the constituency of Tunapuna in 1991 and 1995, contesting the seat on five occasions and earning victory four times. Throughout his political career, he remained grounded in the communities he served, advocating for development, youth advancement, and social upliftment.
Mr. Edward “Eddie” Hart’s life embodied the national motto:
“Together we aspire, together we achieve.”
