I’m Mauricia Stephen, and I serve as the Head Embalmer at Belgroves Funeral Home. It’s an honor to introduce myself to you and share a glimpse into my life and career.

My journey into the world of funeral service began at the American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service Inc (AAMI), where I graduated Summa Cum Laude. This remarkable institution not only equipped me with the necessary skills but also instilled a deep sense of compassion and empathy, which are paramount in this profession.

In addition to my funeral service education, I hold a Bachelor of Arts with honors in Human Resources Management. This diverse background has allowed me to blend the technical expertise of mortuary science with the human touch required to support grieving families during their most challenging moments.

To further refine my craft, I pursued certification from Matt Smith of the International Academy of Embalming. I also had the privilege of learning from Dominick J. Astorino, a distinguished Professor at the Worsham College of Mortuary Science, who guided me through the intricacies of Advanced Restorative Art and Embalming. These experiences have enabled me to provide the highest level of care and preservation for your loved ones.

Throughout my academic journey, I was honored to receive several awards, including the Mu Sigma Alpha Award and the Dr. John McAllister Memorial Award. These accolades reflect my dedication to excellence and my commitment to continuous learning in this ever-evolving field.

However, what truly sets me apart, is my unwavering dedication to my job and the families I have the privilege of serving. Every day, I approach my work with the understanding that each family I meet is unique, and their needs require special attention and care. It’s my mission to ensure that every detail is attended to, and that your loved ones are treated with the utmost respect and dignity.
