Crematorium Operator

The position is generally responsible for efficiently operating the Crematorium and processing cremains.
All activities must be geared towards maintaining the highest level of service to both internal and external
stakeholders and must conform to Internal Auditing standards and guidelines and to all legal, statutory and regulatory
requirements.


KEY RESPONSIBILTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
▪ Operates the retort to incinerate human remains as assigned.
▪ Loads and cleans the retort.
▪ Processes cremains, packages and labels urns, and delivers on time.
▪ Ensures that requests for the crematorium garden are executed in a timely manner.
▪ Verifies that all documents are completed and in order before cremation.
▪ Ensures compliance to company policies and procedures in the operations of the crematorium.
▪ Ensures immediate surroundings are clean.
▪ Assists in other job-related duties from time to time as may be directed by the Administrator.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

▪ Five O’ Levels, two of which must include English Language and Mathematics
▪ At least three (3) years working experience in an industrial environment
▪ At least two (2) years working experience with machines


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

▪ Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills.
▪ Excellent relationship building skills.
▪ Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
▪ Strong knowledge of customer care processes and techniques.
▪ Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment.
▪ Working knowledge of MS Office
▪ An honest and highly confident disposition.
