In Loving Memory of Jeannette Elias (née Zakour)

Jeannette Elias, beloved daughter of Elias and the late Samia Zakour, peacefully passed away on April 14th, 2024. She was surrounded by the love of her family and friends.

Jeannette was the cherished wife of Dr. Anthony Elias, and together they shared a bond of love and devotion that transcended time. She was the loving mother of Dr. Toni-Marie Elias, Nicolas Elias, Ashley-Anne Bohnert, and Jeanne-Alexie Elias. Jeannette’s nurturing spirit and unwavering support were evident in the lives of her children, who were her pride and joy.

As a mother-in-law to Kristina Shedden and Michael Bohnert, Jeannette welcomed them into her family with open arms and boundless love. She found immense joy in her role as a grandmother to Edward, Amelia, Kai, and Arthur, showering them with affection and wisdom.

Jeannette was a beacon of strength and grace to her siblings: Juliette Azar, Freddy Zakour, Anne Haloute, Claudette Fakoory and Anthony Zakour (deceased). She cherished the memories they shared and the bonds that held them together. In addition, she was a beloved sister-in-law to Lark Zakour, George Haloute, Colette Zakour, Alexander Elias, Emerline Joseph, and the late Souheil Azar, Dion Fakoory, and Frederick Elias.

Throughout her life, Jeannette was a pillar of love and support to her extended family and friends. Her kindness, generosity, and unwavering loyalty touched the lives of all who knew her.

A Mass celebrating Jeannette’s life will be held on Friday, April 26th, 2024, at St. Benedict’s R.C. Church, La Romain, at 10am. In lieu of flowers, a collection will be taken for Lady Hochoy Home (South), a cause close to Jeannette’s heart.

Though she may be physically absent, Jeannette’s spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May she rest in eternal peace.
