Greetings and blessings to all. I am abroad at the moment and join others in expressing my sincere condolences to the family of my dear work colleague of several decades Mr. Sugrim Samaroo. His calm, soft spoken, easy going character, always with a smile and soft chuckle had an influence in molding my character while on my journey as a
professional educator. Farewell and rest in peace my friend.🙏

My most heartfelt condolences to the Family Samaroo. Dave and I were classmates in West and it was there we met and learned his father was the math teacher. Mr Samaroo was 1 of 3 teachers that showed kindness and care towards me. He left an impression bc he took the time to make me a better student. But what really threw me off axis, was how funny he was, in a subtle manner. I don’t recall the exact memory, but what I do know is it left an impression that was uncharacteristically, not him in who he portrayed everyday. It was as though it was just for me, confirmed by a low key grin. He was fair, very intelligent, a phenomenal teacher and father. What he taught us was years ahead of what was taught in NY school system. What he taught in form 1,was not taught until 4 years later in 11th grade. I was grateful for what time I spent at Hillview and only then realized how fortunate I attended an institution of highest caliber.
Thank you Sir,for properly readying me for the future to come. Your life was well spent, with fortitude and purpose, that gave intellectual continuity, for generations to come. That is Mr Samaroo’s Legacy, that we,the men and women of Hillview, along with his progeny, are part of. Rest easy Sir.
