David Rupert Akers former Fire Sub Station Officer with the Trinidad and Tobago Fire Service and avid former hunter passed away peacefully at his sister’s residence on Friday 11th August 2023.  Mr Akers was born on 11th October 1932 at Big Hill Hindustan New Grant to Theresa Cummings and Mc Donald Akers. He was the beloved husband of Sybil Narinesingh Akers (deceased) and devoted father to William David Akers, Jennifer Daniel, Germaine Baptiste, Timothy Lennox Cooper, and Raymond Curtis Reid. Adored, grandfather to Anderson, Kevon, Stefon, Christian, Nicole, Nicolet, Sam, Pam, Rayanna, Renell and Shern. Devoted friend and family of brother in law John Narinesingh.

He was the brother of Adora Nicholas nee Akers, Harvey Cummings and deceased siblings Popoline, Sonny Akers, Amanda Paul, Dennis Akers, Odessa Cummings. Best Uncle in the world to Rudy, Patricia, Jocelyn, Brenda, Denise, Renwick, Merle (deceased), Kelvin (deceased), Sandra, Ann, Coke, Suzette, Denyse, Debra, Conrad, Bryan, Ian, Pixie, Tess, Dave, Maude, Monica, Stokely (deceased), Roanna, Teresa, Toni, Maria Desly. Hilary, and 45 others.  He had a close and cherished relationship with his cousin’s Shirley, Muriel, Senna, Evelyn, Violet and Edmund (deceased).

The funeral of the late David Rupert Akers will be held on Thursday 17th August 2023 at 12.00 noon at New Testament Church, 11 Southern Main Road, Duncan Village followed by interment at his mother’s gravesite at 6th Company.
